[2018.11] ISAPS 2018 Miami: Rhinoplasty

Dr. Myung-Ju Lee, the Chief Surgeon of VIP Plastic Surgery Korea, was invited as a faculty speaker at the 24th Congress of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), one of the most prestigious academic gatherings in global aesthetic medicine. The ISAPS Congress brings together leading surgeons from around the world to share advanced surgical concepts, evidence-based techniques, and long-term clinical insights.
During Session 2: Rhinoplasty II, Dr. Lee delivered a presentation titled
“Contracted Nose Correction with Autologous Rib Cartilage Grafting.”
His lecture highlighted the surgical challenges of contracted nose deformities, the limitations of traditional grafting materials, and the value of autologous rib cartilage for achieving long-term stability, natural definition, and structural support. Drawing from more than two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Lee presented case analyses, complication-avoidance strategies, and postoperative outcomes that demonstrated the effectiveness of rib cartilage in complex revision rhinoplasty.
Dr. Lee’s contribution was especially well-received among international surgeons, as rib cartilage–based reconstruction has become a key technique for Asian rhinoplasty patients who require durable augmentation and internal support. His participation as a faculty member reflects VIP Plastic Surgery’s ongoing commitment to advancing safe, innovative, and anatomically sound rhinoplasty practices through global academic exchange.
